Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Group X-Candidates who have passed their Intermediate (10+2) Level Exam with Math, Physics & English Subject with Minimum 50% marks Or Passed 3 years Polytechnic Diploma with 50% Marks. OR 2 Years Vocation Course with 50% Marks will be considered for this post.

Group Y – Candidates who have passed their Intermediate (10+2) Level Exam with Minimum 50% marks & scored minimum 50% marks in English OR having Vacation Course done with 50% Marks will be considered for this post.

Air force Group X and Group Y Exam Pattern

Group X Exam Pattern

The duration of Group X will be 60 minutes and will comprise of English, Physics & Mathematics questions as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus.

Group Y Exam Pattern

The duration of Group Y will be 45 minutes and will comprise of English as per 10+2 CBSE syllabus and Reasoning & General Awareness questions.

Physical/Medical Standards

Height: Minimum 152.5 cm.
Weight: Weight should be proportionate to height and age. (Minimum 55 Kg).
Chest: Minimum range of expansion : 5 cm.
Hearing: Should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.
Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
Health: Candidates should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from all communicable diseases & skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
Body Tattoos: Permanent tattoo are only permitted on inner face of forearm i.e. (from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm).

Initially, candidates shall be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic Training Institute, Belagavi (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT, candidates will be allocated trades and sent for trade-related training of specified durations which shall include security training. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness, and discipline or is found to be medically unfit.

Pay Group X: During training, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month shall be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Military Service Pay (MSP), Group ‘X’ Pay (Except Education Instructor Trade). Rs.33,100/- per month plus Dearness allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.

Pay Group Y: During training, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month shall be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades. Rs.26,900/- per month plus Dearness allowance (as applicable) which, in subsequent years, may rise asper the career progression of the individual.
