CSIR conducts Joint CSIR UGC NET, which is the national level placement test in field of Science including Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Earth Atmospheric Ocean &Planetary Sciences.

Eligibility Criteria for CSIR NET

An applicant must have the Degree of Post-Graduation or PHD in Science stream with minimum 55% aggregate marks from Government recognized university or institution.

Paper pattern of UGC- NET:

Paperhas three parts:

Paper 1: 

Questions are general in nature. Time duration will be one hour 15 minutes. It consists of 60questions, out of which applicants are required to endeavor 50 questions. It contains total 100 marks.

Paper 2:

Questions are from the optional subjectsselected by the applicants. Time duration will be one hour 15 minutes. It consists of 50questions, applicants are required to endeavor all questions. It also contains total 100 marks.

Paper 3:

Questions are from the optional subjectsselected by the applicants. Time duration will be two hour 30 minutes. It consists of 70questions, applicants are required to endeavor all questions. It contains total 150 marks.

Paper pattern of CSIR -UGC NET

Examination is conducted for following subjects:

Chemical Sciences
Life Sciences
Physical Sciences

Earth Sciences
Mathematical Sciences
Time duration of examination is 3 hours.
