SSB Eligibility Criteria of 2020
Eligibility
Only unmarried candidates are selected Unmarried graduates who clear the Combined Defense Services Examination conducted by the UPSC are selected for the SSB Interview.
For Males:
Born on or later 2 January 1991 and not later 1 January 1996. In case of Air Force Academy, someone should be born on or after 2 January 1992 and on or earlier than 1st January 1996.
For Females:
Born on or after 2 January 1990 and on or before 1 January 1996
Unmarried or issueless widows.
Qualification:
Naval Academy: A bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Air Force Academy: A degree in B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics; B.E. and B. Tech.
Indian Military Academy and Officers’ Training Academy: Degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
SSB Interview Procedure 2020
SSB Interview procedure consists of two stage selection Process Stage I & II. Candidate those are qualify stage I only they are allow to appear for stage II.
Stage I:- Stage I is screening Test. It consists of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception test & Description test (PP&DT).
Stage II:- This stage is conducted for four days and it is consist of Psychology test, Group Testing Officer Tasks (GTO Tasks), Interview & Conference.
The Five-Day intelligence and personality test schedule is as under
Day 1- Primary Intelligence Test.
Day 2- Psychological Test.Day
3 and Day 4- Group Testing Officers (GTO) Activities.Day
5- Conference.
Stage I
1. Screening:-In this process some intelligence students are selected by some activities Verbal and Non- Verbal Test and Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT. In PPDT candidate write a story on shown picture in 30 sec.
Stage II:
In this process check the psychological suitability of the Candidates.
Thematic Apperception Test [TAT]- In this test 11 pictures will be shown and it is disappear after 30 seconds. Candidates are write a story on these picture in 4 minutes.
Word Association Test [WAT]- In this process 60 words will be shown back to back for a period of 50 sec. candidate have to write the thought that comes in their mind.
Situation Reaction Test [SRT]- Candidate get booklet with 60 situations written on it. Candidates have write to response in these 60 booklets.
Self Description Test [ SD]- In this process candidate write his opinion about their parents, themselves, friends, teachers and others.
3.GTO ( Grouping Task Obstacles )
The main aim of this task is to judge your qualities during group performance.
GD (Group Discussion): In this section back to back group discussion on two topics mostly on the Current Affairs.
GPE (Group Planning Exercise): Candidate in this series has to write his planning for the mentioned problems and given map.
PGT (Progressive Group Task): Candidate in Progressive Group Task in this candidate cross some obstacles with the help of some materials.
HGT (Half Group Task): This series is same as it PGT but group members in HGT are half than PGT.
IOT (Individual Obstacles Task): In this series candidate attempt 10 obstacles individually.
Command Task: Candidate required crossing some obstacles with the help of 2-3 Subordinate.
Snake Race / Group obstacles Race: All group members are competing with other group members in snake race.
4. Personal Interview
The Officer can take your personal Interview. In this task candidate face the SSB Interview Questions. Interviewing Officers in the SSB is the major anxiety because one wrong answer move dimness your image and decrease your chances to get recommend.
5. Conference
The conference is just to decide whether you recommend as an officer in Indian defence forces or not. Candidates are required to come before the complete Board of Examiners, which is consisted of President, Deputy President, all the GTOs, all the psychologists and Technical Officer.
